Volunteers take members to and from appointments, the grocery store, and ANV social gatherings. Please note: we mostly need drivers who are available during business hours, Monday-Friday. There is an additional training that Home Organization volunteers must take. Because this can be an emotional process, Home Organization volunteers must be ok with slow progress, have patience, and an interest in developing trust and rapport with a member.
Friendly Visitor: Volunteers spend about an hour at a member’s home visiting with them. Can be a one-time occurrence or recurring. A great way to build connections and friendships with members.
Walking Buddy: Similar to a friendly visitor, volunteers go to the member’s neighborhood and spend some time walking and chatting.
Office: Office volunteers have a set three-hour shift one time per week. They answer the phones and take member requests, enter them into the database, and send requests out to volunteers. Office volunteers have an extra training session and shadow a current volunteer to learn the ropes.
Office - Special Projects: Help with bulk mailing, filing, assembling packets, etc. Does not require extra training.
