In all cases, if you have a life-threatening issue, call 911. If you experience a power outage that causes medical equipment to become inoperable, or you have other non-emergency health related needs, call the Arlington County Dispatch non-emergency number 703-558-2222 and ask for the person on call for public health.

If the Arlington County Government is closed, the Arlington Neighborhood Village office is closed and all service requests scheduled for that day are cancelled.

If the Arlington County Government delays opening, the Arlington Neighborhood Village office will open on time provided staff and volunteers can get to the office safely. Volunteers with service requests scheduled that morning should contact the member to determine the feasibility of delivering the service request. No member or volunteer should risk injury to fulfill a service request. If you are planning to attend an event being held in a county facility, check with that facility to see if they will be open.

If the Arlington County Government closes early, the Arlington Neighborhood Village office will close at the same time or at 3pm, whichever is earlier. Volunteers with service requests scheduled after the Arlington County Government closes should contact the member to determine the feasibility of delivering the service request. If you are planning to attend an event being held in a county facility, check with that facility to see if they will be open.

If Arlington County Schools are closed, delayed opening, or are closing early, the Arlington Neighborhood Village office hours of operation will depend upon snow removal and/or power availability. Volunteers with service requests scheduled for that day should contact the member to determine the feasibility of delivering the service request. No member or volunteer should risk injury to fulfill a service request.

For weekends or other days when Arlington County Government and Schools are not in session, volunteers with service requests scheduled for that day should contact the member to determine the feasibility of delivering the service request. No member or volunteer should risk injury to fulfill a service request.
